Shiva Amiri is an Iranian-Canadian lawyer, international human rights advocate, and Founder and Principal Lawyer of Amiri Law Firm P.C., a Toronto-based international boutique law firm. Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario, she maintains a multidisciplinary practice spanning international human rights, strategic litigation, immigration and refugee protection, complex family and cross-border disputes, and personal injury law. Ms. Amiri represents clients before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, including its Refugee Protection Division and Refugee Appeal Division.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Amiri is actively engaged in international human rights and public international law. She serves as Diversity and Inclusion Officer of the International Bar Associations Human Rights Law Committee and as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Law Association - Canada, and participates in international legal initiatives concerning human rights, international criminal justice, accountability, and the rule of law.

Ms. Amiri pursued her undergraduate studies as an honours student at the University of Toronto, where she studied Sociology and Evolutionary Anthropology and worked as a research assistant. She completed her legal studies at Bond University in Australia, with a focus on international law, and subsequently studied Canadian law at Osgoode Hall Law School. She has further advanced her professional and international legal education through the Hague Academy of International Law, where she completed its Public International Law programme, and Harvard Kennedy Schools Public Leadership Credential (PLC), where she completed Leadership & Ethics Moral Leadership in Personal Practice.
